On New Year’s Eve I went to a marvellous party and became the Fancy Lady that Has a Yeti Head. I would like to thank brother Andrew and his wife Sophie, and Corin, and Anna, and Windyridge, for making it such a good party, and Frank for promising to share through collective consciousness, and Stuart and the Hula Girl, and Jasper for the title, and Amy for the pond at 3am, and Steve for the Skins, and Graham for the Gong, and everyone for dancing and celebrating and being great company. Here’s wishing you a happy, fulfilling, and satisfying 2013.
A tribute to KGFC which I loved and I miss it.
We played 17 and lost 17, and by chance there were 17 nationalities played for the team during it’s life.
Pulchridtudo in Fortitudine means Beauty in Strength.
It is a bit weird this one but hey, I was ill when I did it. Thank you Ibuprofen for taking the pain away.
I fell ill and was treated with paracetamol, trimethoprim (no good), co-amoxiclav (correction), and ibuprofen. While I was ill I started making iconographic sketches representing the spirits of these medicines and some other themes.
In the rainforest, people treat themselves when ill by communicating with plant spirits, and when using western medicine, they also meet the spirits of the tablets, who wear white coats and are ‘very powerful’.
I researched each medicine (mostly on wikipedia but also medicine websites like Boots and the NHS) and discovered some interesting things, like the fact that paracetamol can kill you even if you only take a little bit too much each day for week, and that it is deadly poisonous to cats in tiny quantities.
From these facts I invented little signs and things to go on the picture.
These sketches are concepts for a planned Pop Video. These costumes could be quite ambitious so if you would like to be involved – and we are looking for a sponsor too – do get in touch!
We have a great team lined up to write, sing, play, shoot, sew and edit.
